Cefpodoxime
ORELOX is usually prescribed for:
Strep A beta-hemolytic angina
Acute sinusitis
Acute bronchial suppuration in subjects at risk
Exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Bacterial pneumonia of the subject at risk
Indications ORELOX-
They derive from the antibacterial activity and the pharmacokinetic characteristics of cefpodoxime.
They are limited in adults to the treatment of infections due to sensitive germs, and in particular:
Documented angina due to beta-hemolytic streptococcus A.
Acute sinusitis.
Acute bronchial suppuration of subjects at risk (especially alcoholics, smokers, subjects over 65 years old, etc.).
· Exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, particularly during recurrent attacks or in subjects at risk.
Bacterial pneumonia especially in subjects at risk.
Official recommendations for the appropriate use of antibacterials should be considered.
