Magnesium is an important mineral that plays a vital role in the human body, as its involved in many of biochemical reactions in your body that is essential for many bodily functions which include regulating the blood pressure levels, it helps with muscle movements and nerve function, protein formation and energy creation. Also, magnesium plays an important role in glucose control and insulin metabolism. Some signs for Magnesium deficiency include depression, weakness, muscle cramps, insomnia and fatigue.
Sources of Magnesium from food include bananas, nuts, seeds, dark green vegetables, whole grains and legumes. But it’s preferable to take magnesium supplements in order to obtain the needed dose.
