Intestinal worms also known as parasitic worms, are simple organisms that live in and feed off the human body. Intestinal worms can cause some symptoms in the human body such as: abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weight loss, bloating & loss of appetite. There are variety of different types of intestinal worms which include:
1. Tapeworms are type of flatworms that lives in the intestine and attaches itself to the intestinal wall, it looks like a long, white ribbon.
2. Hookworms are usually transmitted through feces and contaminated soil and they attach themselves to the intestinal wall with a “hook.”
3. Flukes are a type of flatworm that are small & lives in your intestines, blood or tissues.
4. Pinworms are tiny, thin roundworms that are relatively harmless and lives in the colon and rectum.
