1_ very low glucose

2_ very high protein

3_ high WBCs with predominantly neutrophils

Viral meningitis :

1_ mild decrease or normal glucose

2_ mild increased protein

3_ mild increased WBCs predominantly lymphocyte

TB meningitis :

1_ mild decrease glucose

2_ mild increased protein

3_ mild increased WBCs predominantly lymphocyte

TO differentiate between viral and TB meningitis make :

1_ CSF chloride may ⬇in TB!?

2_ CSF adenosine deaminase LEVELS

Fungi meningitis :

1_ Normal or low glucose

2_ mild increased protein

3_ mild increased WBCs predominantly Monocyte

Autoimmune meningitis :

1_ Normal glucose

2_ increased protein polyclonal Ab or IgG

3_ mild increased WBCs predominantly lymphocyte

Neoplastic meningitis :

1_ mild decrease or normal glucose

2_ mild increased protein

3_ mild increased WBCs predominantly lymphocyte
