1. Maintain a healthy weight.
2. Stop smoking.
3. Eat smaller meals rather than huge amounts a few times a day.
4. Wear loose clothes: avoid wearing clothes that squeeze your waist or put
pressure on your abdomen as it can push acid up into the esophagus.
5. Don't lie down after a meal & wait at least three hours before lying down
or going to bed.
6. Elevate the head of your bed on 6-inch blocks as it helps lessen the reflux
of stomach contents into your esophagus.
7. Eat food slowly and chew thoroughly.
8. Avoid food and drinks that trigger reflux including fatty or fried food,
tomato sauce, citrus fruits, spicy food, full-fat dairy products, chocolate, garlic, onions & caffeine.
